Category

Web Design

Date

February 2018 - May 2022

OVERVIEW
I led the redesign and technical implementation of the George Bush School of Government and Public Service website, enhancing accessibility, usability, and visual identity to align with the university’s mission.

CHALLENGE
The existing website was difficult to navigate, had accessibility issues, and required constant manual updates by staff. The goal was to create a scalable, easy-to-manage site that elevated the user experience for prospective students, faculty, and donors.

APPROACH
Using a user-centered design process, I conducted stakeholder interviews and user journey mapping. I rebuilt the website using a modern CMS, optimized site architecture, and implemented accessibility standards (WCAG 2.1).

SOLUTION
A responsive, accessible, and visually refreshed website that streamlined content management and improved visitor engagement.

IMPACT

- Reduced staff maintenance workload by 25%.

- Increased site traffic to over 960K annual views.

- Saved the university approximately $100K annually in maintenance and vendor costs.

- Earned multiple web design awards for accessibility and UX.
